Lahaina’s beaches encapsulate what comes to the minds of people when they think of Hawaii. Golden white sand, calm waters, beautiful sea life and vibrant corals. Snorkeling in Lahaina can let you have a glimpse of these impressive scenes. The waters in Lahaina provides excellent visibility that sometimes exceeds dozens of feet and the marine life is one of the best in the world. Endemic and colorful fishes and vibrant corals are abundant in the beaches of Lahaina. There are also great spots for snorkeling in Lahaina and nearby places.

Wahikuli Beach Park is one of these places. This beach is located between Kaanapali and Lahaina. The best places here is on the far southern end of the beach. There is a rocky point here that houses a large number of reef fish. There is also the Mala Wharf. This small boat harbor houses numerous marine life that makes snorkeling here a blast. You can find plenty of sea turtles and numerous reef sharks living here just under the pilings littering the ocean floor. Just watch out for the boats leaving this place.

However, like all activities in Maui, caution should always be exercised. The time of the day can also affect how your snorkeling trips can go. The early morning waves are generally calmer than the ones in the afternoon.
