Just south of Wailea there is an extinct cinder cone. The depression from this cinder cone is the perfect place for a firing range. This is why the only Shooting Course in Wailea is located here. It doesn’t matter what level of shooter you are, you will still have fun here. If you are a beginner then the instructors will have you shooting like a pro before you end this activity. If you are a pro then the course will challenge you and test your mettle. There are around 30 stands in the entire 12-acre area of the course. The entire course is like a practice for small game hunting. Their targets mimic the flight patterns of different game birds and there is even a clay target that mimics a rabbit hopping on the ground. Some of the animals that their targets mimic are black francolins, pheasants, doves, chukars, grouses, ducks, and rabbits. You are given 75 targets to shoot. The stations they have here are named after local game birds.

If you want to test your skills against others then you can participate in a 5 stand sporting clays. The targets are controlled by the Birdbrain computer. There are 5 levels of difficulty during this activity. During this activity, the Birdbrain launches 25 fast moving targets that test the proficiency of the shooters, regardless of the level of skill. This is a great way to test yourself against your friends. The instructors here are very friendly and knowledgeable. Shooters can be as young as 12 and complete beginners. They can teach you all about how to handle a shotgun safely. The course is managed and owned by David Barnes, a worldwide shooting instructor. No need to bring your own guns since they will provide all of the gear you will need. They will provide you with guns, ammo, targets, eye and ear protection, and clothing.
