Maui is a scuba diver’s paradise. With its calm and clear waters and abundant marine life, guests are eager to jump in the water. One of the best ways to get a peek at this beautiful underwater world is by going Diving in Maalaea. Not everyone gets to see this side of Maui. The Diving Tours in Maalaea are provided by the Maui Diamond II on Maui and the Maui Dive Shop. The Maui Diamond II on Maui uses a 38′ Wilson power-driven vessel with twin engines while the Maui Dive Shop uses a 48-foot Custom Pro with twin jet-powered engines. Most of the tours offered by these tour operators are for certified divers. Don’t forget to bring your scuba diving certification when you go on these trips. If you are not a licensed diver then you can join the intro dives. Both tour operators offer intro dives for those that want to try scuba diving for the first time. Their certified instructors will teach you all the basics you need to know to be able to enjoy scuba diving.
These tours will take you to the best places to scuba in Maui. Molokini is one of these places. Molokini Crater is a crescent-shaped partially submerged crater that houses around 250 species in its safe embrace. Because of the shape of the islet, the waters in the crater is calm and protected from strong winds. Since the islet is made up of rock, the visibility of the waters here is excellent for snorkeling. Visibility here can exceed 150 feet. The Saint Anthony is also nearby. This is a sunken ship that was intentionally sunk in 1997. This was done to make an artificial reef.
Here is a list of the different options for Diving in Maalaea.
