Looking for Makena Beaches? You’re in luck. Makena is home to a number of beaches that are perfect for different kinds of activities. Guests can enjoy a wide array of water activities in Makena. Makena Beaches vary from long beaches with golden sand and large shore break to more mellow areas with some great reefs to snorkel. If you want to take a swim with turtles and other marine life then you can head to Maluaka Beach. This beach is known to many as “Turtle Town”. Guests of this beach can spot numerous Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles gliding underwater or lounging in the sun. There are also a wide variety of fishes that you can see here. These include wrasses, parrotfishes, angelfishes, and tangs.

Makena Beach is also located here. This beach is actually two beaches in one. The bigger of the two, aptly named Big Beach is known for having fine sand and a very unforgiving shore break. The shore break makes it perfect for body boarding, although caution should be exercised since this can cause injury or death. If you can’t find the beach you’re looking for in Makena there are also world-class beaches up North. The Kamaole Beaches are in Kihei and Wailea has Wailea and Polo Beach which are also very nice.
