SOUTH MAUI GUIDEBOOK
North Maui Guidebook
If you are looking to escape the crowds of guests who flock to the resorts in the West and South side of Maui, you should consider staying in North Maui. North Maui is less developed and less crowded. There aren’t any big hotels or resorts here. Most of the accommodations you can find here are small hotels and vacation rentals. The North Shore is known for its laid back and relaxed environment. The beaches on the North Shore are beautiful and scenic. However, caution must always be exercised here since there are big waves and currents that can easily cause injury. One of the best beaches for windsurfing can be found on the North Shore. Hookipa Beach is known as a mecca of surfing. Every year windsurfers congregate here, especially during the winter months.
“The North Shore of Maui is a great place to live, there are excellent beaches and plenty of fun things to do.”
– Jeremy Stice, Realtor (B)

North Maui Hotels
East Maui doesn’t have any of the large hotels that are prevalent in the West and South sides of Maui. Most of the accommodations that you can find here are small Bed and Breakfasts. There are also small inns that you can stay at. If you are looking for a hotel in Hana, then there is one. It is the Travaasa Hana, Maui. This hotel is frequented by guests who want to stay in a private setting that is away from the crowds. If you are looking for a wider selection of hotel accommodations, it would be better if you try your luck on the other regions of Maui that have more resort zoning.
