Central Maui Beaches

Looking to find some Central Maui Beaches? This part of the island is not really known for having the most amazing beaches but it does have some options. One thing you should know about the beaches of Central Maui is that they are very prone to having afternoon winds so make sure you factor that in and schedule your beach time as early in the day as possible.

There are options for places to surf, fish, windsurf, kiteboard or just relax on the beach and work on your tan (as long as the winds are not up). You can visit the beaches in town at Kanaha or Stable Road or you can make the trip down to Maalaea and take a walk on Maui’s longest stretch of sand (keep in mind there is a sharp shallow reef there so watersport activities are not the best option at the Maalaea beaches.

This beach is located in Maalaea, just next to the Maalaea harbor. You will be able to watch boats come and go on their daily routines. This place is also great for surfing during the summer seasons, when the south swell rolls in. The breaks closer to the sure are more suitable for beginners. The ones farther away are for the more advanced surfers. You can also take a leisurely walk eastward towards Sugar beach in Kihei. This beach has BBQ stations, picnic tables, showers and portable toilets.
